Showing up for yourself can mean different things to people.  It can be how you value yourself. It can be that you are present in whatever you do, rather than distracted.

So let’s talk distractions. One of the biggest distractions these days is people’s phones.  It’s great to get information, take pictures, get directions, read our e-mails, keep up with what’s happening to friends and family.  However, it’s also great for eating up time, and before you know it, perhaps an hour or more has passed.  Do you remember back in the day when TV was cable or satellite?  You had lots to choose from, but what to watch and when was decided for you.  Then things turned to streaming. Suddenly you can watch whatever you want to watch, whenever you want, for as long as you’d like.

You also have other people and what they have going on in their lives.  Sometimes it’s easier, or makes us feel better, to be concerned about other people. Many times, there is a true need; they do need help, or they do need a confidant. But are you giving yourself the same amount of attention?

This constant stimulation leads to stress, anxiety, feelings of being overwhelmed, and sometimes a sense of questioning ourselves.  This can also lead to not sleeping well at night, not eating, or not being able to maintain focus.  This also tends to keep a person in their head – analyzing things or reviewing again and again. When this happens, you begin to disconnect from your heart center and move into your head.

The ascension process has been guiding us toward becoming more heart-centered—learning to move out of the constant activity of the mind and into a deeper connection with ourselves. Our world is filled with distractions that continually pull our attention outward. The more distracted we become, the easier it is to lose that inward connection. When we turn inward, we reconnect with our heart, and through the heart, with our soul. That connection to the soul is ultimately what enriches our lives.

I believe this is why I felt so strongly about the Goddess Meditation and showing up for ourselves.  Previously, I thought of showing up as being focused or being aware. Now, I think of it as so much more.  We need to be aware of the many things that pull us away from that inward alignment with our soul, which is ultimately source energy.

We have so many more gifts available to us because we live in these higher vibrations; however, we need to slow down so that we can recognize them and allow them to be a bigger part of us. If you are constantly questioning and looking for answers outwardly, you will not find what is truly important to you. That can only come from the strengthening of your alignment within.

You are more sensitive.  You are receiving messages. I invite you to slow down, clear out the distractions, allow others to help you, set up healthy boundaries, and move into your true, authentic self. You will feel better and become empowered.
